Shimron Hetmyer was bought by Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the IPL 2022 auction for Rs 8.5 crore. The 25-year-old Hetmyer was part of the Delhi Capitals (DC) team in the last season of the IPL.

Rajasthan Royals (RR) face Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the 20th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. Both the teams are face to face at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. According to the expectations in the match, Lucknow Super Giants captain KL Rahul won the toss and decided to bowl first. Rajasthan Royals had a very poor start and they lost for four wickets at the score of 67 runs.
After this Shimron Hetmyer and Ravichandran Ashwin made an excellent partnership for the 5th wicket. However, in the 14th over of the innings, Hetmyer was given life by Krunal Pandya on a personal score of 14 runs, which was very heavy on the opposition team.
In that over, Shimron Hetmyer tried to pull on the backfoot on the ball of Krishnappa Gautam, but the timing of the shot was not correct and the ball stood at long. Krunal Pandya, who was present there, could not catch the ball.

Taking advantage of this life gift, Hetmyer hit sixes. The Caribbean batsman hit an unbeaten 59 off 36 balls, which included 6 sixes and a four. On the other hand, Ravichandran Ashwin scored 28 runs in 23 balls, which included two sixes. Thanks to Hetmyer’s scintillating innings, Rajasthan Royals scored a superb score of 165 for 6 in 20 overs.
