New Delhi: Royal Challengers Bangalore’s star all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga won his maiden ‘Man of the Match’ award in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for his impressive figures of 4/20 against KR. The Sri Lankan spinner, who was seen celebrating in a special way after taking the wicket, said that he is inspired by Brazilian football star Neymar Jr.
Hasaranga said, ‘My favorite footballer is Neymar and he celebrates the same way as I have celebrated.’ Hasranga told Star Sports during the post-match presentation ceremony, ‘I am really happy. When I go to play, I don’t put any pressure, so I think I have got success.
Meanwhile, KKR captain Shreyas Iyer praised Hasranga’s 4/20 spell. ‘Hasranga bowled really well, after taking my wicket he bowled even better. I was testing his bowling very well in the beginning. We had decided that we would play him as an off-spinner but unfortunately it did not happen. He is very experienced and has helped him a lot on this wicket.
In the IPL 2022 season, Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated Kolkata Knight Riders by three wickets on Wednesday. After bowling out Kolkata for just 128, Bangalore lost their first three batsmen in the power-play, but Sherfane Rutherford (28), David Willey (18), Shahbaz Ahmed (27), Dinesh Karthik (14 not out) And the crucial innings of Harshal Patel (10 not out) gave RCB the win with four balls to spare.
